The following chart shows the number of new cases per day by state. The shading indicates the number of new cases per day; the darker the color, the more new cases were reported.

Note: In some cases, a zero may appear for some states on certain dates. Sometimes this corresponds with a weekend, and other times a state may have reported its daily data after the project does its daily archive – meaning the numbers could appear on the following date.

The chart runs from March 12 through April 13. Data Source: COVID Tracking Project, Wyoming Department of Health and Washington State Hospital Association.

The shading indicates the number of new cases per day; the darker the color, the more new cases were reported. In some cases, zero cases may have been reported by a state in a day. Sometimes this corresponds with a weekend. The chart runs from March 12 through April 13. Data sources: COVID Tracking Project and U.S. Census.
