In this episode of Post, journalists become detectives in their colleague's murder and a newspaper is sued for trying to get records.
COLUMBIA, Missouri – Post is a new media review program from InvestigateTV, Raycom Media’s streaming channel dedicated to in-depth and watchdog reporting.
In Episode One, Post covers the top four award-winning journalism projects awarded with prestigious IRE Awards. IRE Executive Director Doug Haddix joins the show to discuss the IRE medal winners, The New York Times and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and Slidstvo.Info, as well as the recipient of the Tom Renner Award, BuzzFeed News.
Malheur Enterprise Publisher and Editor Les Zaitz also joins the show remotely to discuss his paper’s IRE Freedom of Information Award. His newspaper was sued by an Oregon state psychiatric board after journalists requested records about a man accused of faking insanity to avoid prison and killing two people upon release from a state mental health facility.
Post is presented in partnership with the journalism organization Investigative Reporters and Editors. The monthly program is taped at the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri, a partner of InvestigateTV.
